World Snooker Championship 2022 schedule: what’s on the agenda?
The 2022 World Snooker Championship begins on Saturday. The annual tournament is the most important of the sports calendar.
Mark Selby is the defending champion after beating Shaun Murphy 18-15 in the 2021 final. He is eyeing a fifth title at Sheffield, while Ronnie O’Sullivan is close to equaling Stephen Hendry’s modern record of seven .

Where is the 2022 World Snooker Championship taking place?
For the 46th consecutive year, the tournament is taking place at the Crucible Theater in Sheffield, England.
All 31 matches over the 15 days of action will be played at the venue, with two matches played at the same time until the semi-finals, when the layout of the venue will be changed so that only one table is used.

When is the 2022 World Snooker Championship final?
The final will begin on May 1 and end on May 2.
It will be the longest match of the tournament with a maximum of 35 frames to play, and the winner being the first at 18.
There are two sessions on May 1. The afternoon one is eight frames long and the evening one is slightly longer at nine frames.
Eight more will be played on the afternoon of May 2 with a maximum of 10 to play until a winner is crowned in the evening.
