Women raise money for Habitat for Humanity in nail contest | Lehigh Valley Regional News

If you want to emphasize something really important, there is an easy way to do it: get a group of women together and watch them succeed.
âWe’re here for the ‘She Nailed It’ 2021 event,â begins Lindsay Fly, events and marketing manager for Lehigh Valley Habitat for Humanity.
The idea is simple: teams of women compete in a relay hammering competition.
And, because women are good at multitasking (besides being fierce competitors!), They are also fundraising for Habitat for Humanity in Lehigh Valley.
“It’s a lot of fun and we love what Habitat for Humanity is doing and we can’t wait to beat the competition, I think that’s the best way to describe it!” laughs Meagan Walsh, standing with her teammates in the “CCR Hammers Hard” team.
Construction and house work can generally be seen as a man’s job, but let these women drop the hammer on this misconception.
âWe have a lot of female homeowners in our program, which is another wonderful aspect of Habitat and what we do and what we promote,â says Fly.
With a lot of cheering, a lot of control from the judges – including ours, Ali Reid from WFMZ – these ladies took something big and combined it with something fun.
“I think we had a great time!” laughs Walsh.
Now it hits the nail on the head.
