RALEIGH, North Carolina – The University of Michigan men’s track and field team kicked off their distance team for the first time this season outdoors Thursday, March 24 as they kicked off the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State with the first of three days of competition.
Oli Raymond was the Michigan men’s top finisher that day, as he finished 31st overall in 3:45.34 at 1,500 meters.
In a deep peloton with more than 200 finishers, Joost Platinck and Will Landowne were Michigan’s best in the 5,000 meters in 14:25.75 and 14:26.89 for 83rd and 90th, respectively.
The Wolverines will continue the competition on Friday at 6:36 p.m. with the 3,000 meters steeplechase, followed later in the evening by the 10,000 meters. Saturday will feature both the final day of racing in Raleigh as well as a full schedule of sprint, jump and throw competitions at the Miami Hurricane Collegiate Invitational.
