UFC 262: Charles Oliveira vs. Michael Chandler Date, Fight Time, Odds, TV Channel & Live Stream

The UFC returns with its next flagship event Saturday from the Toyota Center in Houston. A new lightweight champion will be crowned in the main event as Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler face off to determine who will replace Khabib Nurmagomedov atop the mountain at 155 pounds.
Nurmagomedov announced his retirement after submitting Justin Gaethje to UFC 254. But UFC president Dana White did not strip Nurmagomedov of the title. White kept trying to get him back for one more fight. Perseverance failed as White eventually accepted that Nurmagomedov would not return, and the belt became vacant.
Soon after, White named Oliveira and Chandler the top two contenders to fight for the championship.
At the end of 2017, Oliveira looked set to be released as he had lost three of his last four. Over the past three years, however, Oliveira has not lost as he has won eight consecutive fights – including seven by stoppage. His last performance was a dominant unanimous decision against former interim champion Tony Ferguson. Oliveira said he will stay out until he gets a title shot because he has done everything possible to receive this unique opportunity. Now he will have the chance he expected.
Standing across from Oliveira inside the Octagon is the former Bellator lightweight champion. Chandler took the MMA world by storm on his UFC debut at UFC 257 when he blew up Dan Hooker in under three minutes. With the impression Chandler had made, it was hard to deny him a chance to win gold in the UFC.
âThe people who say yes, the people who are ready to jump in, the people who are ready to do the job and raise their hands when everyone is covering their heads, these people are usually rewarded for that and the UFC has well done by me so far, ” Chandler told MMA Fighting.
âIt was a pleasure to be signed by the UFC. It’s been a pleasure since day one and I imagine it will be even more of a pleasure after I get that UFC title strapped around my waist.
Who does the job and becomes UFC champion for the first time?
