Turner Named Diamond Medalist at International Photography Competition

NEWBERRY— Debbie Partain Turner of Turner Photography and Restoration, Newberry, was named a Diamond Medalist in the 2021 American Professional Photographers International Photo Contest.
Turner’s work was exhibited at Imaging USA, held January 16-18, 2022 in National Harbor, Maryland. Imaging USA and is one of the largest annual conventions and exhibitions for professional photographers.
A panel of 36 distinguished jurors from across the United States selected the best photographs from more than 5,000 entries submitted to PPA headquarters in Atlanta. Judged against a standard of excellence, 1,926 images were selected for the Merit Collection and 1,225 (approximately 24%) were selected for the prestigious Imaging Excellence Collection – the best of the best. Images from the Imaging Excellence Collection will all be published in Marathon Press’s “Excellence Collection” book.
The level of the award is determined by how many of these four images receive the highest possible honor: acceptance into the PPA loan collection, which is exhibited at photography exhibitions, conventions and other photography events. 6
Turner was named a Diamond Medalist, meaning their four deserved images went into the PPA loan collection. In 2021, there was one of 58 Diamond Photographers of the Year.
