Spangler exits the competition in a sprint orienteering race

Allan Spangler sailed nearly two dozen others to win an orienteering sprint on Wednesday on a course set up on the UAA campus.
He found all 19 commands in the 3.7-kilometer long race in just under 23 minutes, beating Cody Priest by more than six minutes. Jamie Shearer has set the tone for women.
About 100 people attended the meeting, which also offered a shorter course. It was the third sprint race in a series of four that ends Wednesday at Earthquake Park.
