JPR, who was contacted by local media, said: “My mum is from Baie Lazare and my dad is from Pointe Larue, with all my siblings living in Seychelles except one sister who lives in Australia”.
Although struggle is not a sport practiced in the Seychelles, it is something he always wanted to do as a child.
“I loved watching it when I was younger and was captivated by the production, the characters and the costumes and really wanted to be a part of it,” he said.
He added that he didn’t really feel there was one of those characters he wanted to be, as there was a lack of representation of people of different color at that time. He wanted to enter struggle to change that.
