New Orientation Trail at Countess of Chester Country Park
THE Countess of Chester Country Park may soon welcome new facilities, following a £ 500 grant from a wealth management company.
Equilibrium Financial Planning’s Community Support Program provides funds to organizations and charities located near its headquarters in Cheshire, and Friends of the Countess of Chester Country Park used the money to set up a golf course. permanent orientation in the park.
The Friends, who contribute to the development and conservation of the park, have installed bollards, orientation station discs, fixed poles, bought route brochures and bought an interpretation board for the start and finish. of the course.
Morag Scargill of Friends of the Countess of Chester County Park said, “We would like to thank Equilibrium for this vital funding, which will allow us to install and update orienteering trails in the future.
“Our goal for 2020 is to develop outdoor facilities and activities that can be used while Covid-19 restrictions are in place, when indoor activities are very limited.
“We especially want to provide for those who may be anxious coming out of lockdown by working with some of these people in small groups with a trained leader.
“We can’t wait to welcome people to our new orienteering space.
Equilibrium’s Community Support Program was set up in 2015 to provide grants ranging from £ 100 to £ 500 to community organizations and charities in Cheshire East, Greater Manchester and Chester and the District.
With this latest handful of grants, the wealth management company has awarded more than £ 28,000 in funds to community groups.
The program is part of the company’s broader charitable strategy, anchored by the Equilibrium Foundation – which currently has a goal of donating £ 4million by 2028.
