Male Orienteering Champions of the Special Force Regiment

The Special Forces regiment emerged victorious in the team event of the 2019/2020 Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Men’s Orientation Competition after accumulating 4,570 points at Kampong Putat Primary School yesterday.

The Royal Brunei Land Force finished second after collecting 4,430 points while the Department of Defense snatched third place after collecting 3,715 points.

The Royal Brunei Navy came in fourth after registering 3,665 points while the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Training Institute finished fifth with 3,055 points. The Royal Brunei Air Force came in sixth after collecting 2,995 points.

In the open events, Abdul Aziz was announced the winner for the 29 and under category while Awangku Abdul Halim won the 30-33 category.

Sardi emerged victorious in the 35-39 age group while Othman won the over 40 title.

The orienteering aimed to test their map reading skills as well as their mental and physical endurance. In this competition, participants were instructed to find assigned checkpoints within a given time frame.

RBAF Commander Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud presented the awards.
