Los Angeles, Calif., is cleaning up homeless camps ahead of this year’s Super Bowl and a resident told ‘Fox & Friends’ on Thursday that city politicians are looking for a quick fix rather than offering solutions to long term.

“We see time and time again that our politicians come up with band-aid solutions and the encampments move. There is no solution to really get people on the right track and get them the help they need” , said Soledad Ursua, a member of the Venice neighborhood council. co-host, Steve Doocy.

Ursua went on to say that Los Angeles has long tried to sweep its problems under the rug and hide the homelessness crisis from tourists in the city, especially during high-profile events. She noted that before COVID-19, the city had recorded at least 60,000 homeless residents. No counts have been made during the pandemic, but some believe the number has now exceeded 90,000.

“We were promised all these reforms and measures that really promised California this utopian dream, but instead, we’re really dealing with this progressive nightmare unfolding where criminals face no consequences,” Ursua added.
