Considered by many to be one of the best strikers in cricketing history, Rahul Dravid has received plenty of praise from pundits and former players. Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara joined the movement on Thursday during a brief interaction with Lasith Malinga. The former batsman-wicket-keeper was asked who would he choose to bat for his life. Without thinking about it, Sangakarra replied, “Rahul Dravid, he’s amazing in this role.”

“‘The Wall’, there’s a reason for that name,” he added.

Here is the video of the interaction between Sangakarra and Malinga:

Sangakkara is currently with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the ongoing 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) season and he is the director of cricket and head coach of the franchise.

Meanwhile, the franchise joined Malinga this year as a speed bowling coach.

RR are closing in on qualifying for the playoffs and will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their final league game on Friday and only a heavy defeat can prevent their progress to knockouts.

RR is currently third in the 2022 IPL points table with 16 points from 13 games (including eight wins and five losses).

In their previous match, they beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 24 runs in game 63 with Trent Boult taking two wickets for RR.

All eyes will be on Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal in the next game.

Promoted

Buttler currently leads the Orange Cap race with 627 points in 13 games, including three tons and three fifty.

Meanwhile, Chahal is in pole position in the Purple Cap race with 24 wickets in 13 matches.
