KPHB Hoopsters Enter Level 2 of the League’s Annual Basketball Championship
Hyderabad: KPHB Basketball Club defeated Rising Stars Hyderabad 77-56 to enter Tier 2 by dominating Group H in the annual Hyderabad District Basketball Association Basketball League Basketball Championship.
Supervek finished second in Group G with their second victory over RR Club at 67-47 and will have to go through the qualifying round to find a place at Tier 2.
The heroism of Sai Kumar was unsuccessful for his Rising Stars Hyderabad team who ended their campaign with a victory against 2 losses. Sai Kumar sank in 8 three points in his individual score of 28 and with Ashwin with 11 points the loser was down 35-49 before losing 56-77 to a top KPHB team led by Sai Krishna and Arvind who scored 19. and 17 respectively.

Needing a win to stay in the game to move into the next level, Supervek took the upper hand in their 67-47 win over RR Club, leading 44-32 at halftime. Rapids Peter and Sam showed good skills in the second quarter. Meanwhile, the League Championship Tier 2 will start on the grounds of Loyola Academy College in Alwal from September 29 with 10 teams (Sanathnagar Playground, Secunderabad YMCA, Secunderabad Club, Victory Playground, Eagles, Nizam Basketball Academy, Saints , Airborne Basketball Club, Loyola Academy and Young Mens Guild) competing with 4 group toppers and 2 other level 3 qualifiers. KPHB Basketball Club, G 9 and Keystone Basketball Academy dominated their groups while the winner of the tournament’s final match between HMT and Hyderabad Rovers will decide the direct fourth qualifier.
