The Punjab Kings (PBKS) won an exciting clash against SunRisers Hyderabad by five points in Game 37 of the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. After choosing to play first, Hyderabad limited the Punjab to 125/7 in 20 overs, where Jason Holder was his team’s star pitcher with his three wickets for 19 races. Later, while chasing 126 points, the SRH batsmen failed to deliver early in their innings. Mohammed Shami fired David Warner and Kane Williamson early in the pursuit. Leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi was the main wicket taker for PBKS as he took three crucial wickets in the intermediaries, conceding 24 points. Versatile SRH Holder did all he could for his team but failed to cross the finish line. Holder scored 47 points with the bat after a great bowling show. With the victory, the Punjab Kings under KL Rahul jumped to fifth place on the points table. PBKS has four wins in ten matches played this season. Hyderabad is still at the bottom of the points table with eight losses in nine games and their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs have almost ended. (SCORECARD)
