How Much Every Playoff Game Worth For Alabama Assistants Nick Saban

Alabama football coaches have more at stake than pride and satisfaction in playoff accomplishments.
There are financial incentives to be won.
Each coach has incentive bonuses built into their contract. Nick Saban, of course, has the highest and the highest amount. For example, he’ll already win $ 75,000 – on top of his salary – no matter what happens when No.2 Alabama (11-1, 7-1 SEC) takes on No.1 Georgia (12 -0, 8-0) on Saturday in the SEC Championship game. If Alabama wins, that number jumps to $ 125,000.
Saban has other bonuses available, but as a starting point he will earn $ 8.7 million on his base salary ($ 275,000) plus talent fees ($ 8.425 million) from March 1, 2021 until February 28. 2022.
Here is a breakdown of the value of each game for each coach. The Sugar Bowl is listed because it’s the most likely destination if Alabama doesn’t make it to the college football playoffs.
FOOTBALL ALABAMA:Why Alabama’s perceived football fault could make the difference against Georgia
GEORGIA FRONT:What Alabama’s offense needs to do to stand a chance against Georgia’s defensive front Jordan Davis
Nick saban
Position: The Head Coach
Base salary: $ 275,000 (the talent fee in his contract makes him the highest paid coach in the country in annual compensation this season)
SEC Championship Match Appearance: $ 75,000
SEC Championship Match Victory: $ 125,000
Appearance of the sugar bowl: $ 200,000
Appearance in the CFP semi-finals: $ 400,000
Appearance in the CFP national championship: $ 600,000
Victory of the CFP national championship: $ 800,000
Max play incentives: $ 925,000
Remarks: Saban gets the money by appearing in or winning the SEC Championship match, not both. So if Alabama beats Georgia, he wins $ 125,000. Otherwise, $ 75,000. Saban also cannot get more than one of the other game-related bonuses. So if Alabama wins the National Championship, he gets the $ 800,000 plus the SEC Championship Game bonus. And unlike assistant coaches, his performance incentives aren’t based on percentages.
Assistants
Assistant coaches can receive two of the match-related performance bonuses. One of appearing in the SEC Championship Game and the other of the best finish. So, if Alabama appears in the Sugar Bowl, Assistants will receive this bonus. Or, if Alabama wins the National Championship, Assistants will receive this bonus. Bonuses are calculated on the basis of defined percentages which are all the same for each assistant.
