Hammerhead and Suunto team up to expand the capabilities of cyclists and multisport athletes
New York, NY, Friday, April 22, 2022 – Today, Hammerhead, cycling technology innovators and makers of the Karoo 2 cycle computer, and Suunto, known for its world-renowned multisport GPS watches and training tools, announced a collaborative partnership.
The partnership offers cyclists and multisport athletes a seamless solution to manage performance tracking, training efforts and route finding. Athletes can now ride with their Karoo 2 and run, swim and hike with their Suunto watch. All workouts from these devices are now visible in Suunto app for performance analysis and can be shared with 200 other tools to further extend the performance benefits.
As of now, Hammerhead customers can connect their Suunto and Hammerhead accounts via the Hammerhead Dashboard. Most notably, cyclists who connect their accounts will have live access to Suunto Heatmaps which allows cyclists to find and follow the most popular routes, as identified by other users. The Karoo 2 is the first non-Suunto branded device that can be used to download directly to the Suunto app, and is the first bike computer to illustrate popular paths, called heatmaps, in real time. Additionally, like the Karoo 2 itself, Heatmaps will continue to improve as runners themselves contribute directly by reviewing their favorite routes explored in the Suunto app, which will benefit other athletes.

To celebrate this collaboration, the brands teamed up with professional athletes Freddy Ovett, Sami Sauri, Greg Hill, Maghalie Rochette, Christian Meier, Lucy Bertholomew, Jochen Mesle and Max Kroneck.
In addition to these athletes, Hammerhead and Suunto, along with Komoot, have invited all multi-sport athletes around the world to participate in the #SeeTheAdventureAhead Earth Challenge. For eligible activities shared on Instagram, Facebook and/or Komoot between April 22 and May 11, 2022, Hammerhead, Suunto and Komoot will pledge to plant 10,000 trees with Tree Nation Charity.
