Arsenal star Tierney’s season could be over after source reveals
Kieran Tierney could sit out this season in what will be a ‘devastating’ blow for Arsenal.
That’s the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who leads the First order injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
The 24-year-old Scottish star has returned from international duties with a knee injury and is due to see a specialist later this week.
An Arsenal source said Football Insider today (April 5) that they fear the left-back’s injury could rule him out for the rest of the season.
Dinnery claims the signs don’t look good for the ancient Celtic man.
“It does not bode well when you seek a second opinion from a specialist,” he said Football Insiderit’s Adam Williams.
“It’s an indication of the seriousness of the problem. Arteta was unable to give a definitive answer when asked if he could play again this season.
“It suggests that the second opinion is in the hope that there is still an opportunity for him to return.
“But if they say the same thing as the first specialist, maybe that’s it.
“After last night’s performance you can tell he really carries this team and uplifts others around him.
“They’re not blessed with a lot of strength down deep. Nuno Tavares had a couple of indifferent performances at left-back and didn’t convince.
“It would be devastating because you need your best players if you want to fight for those top four spots.”
Tierney was absent as the Gunners were beaten 3-0 at Cyrstal Palace last night (April 4) in a blow to their Champions League qualification hopes.
The defender, who was recently linked with a shock move to Real Madrid, has one goal and three assists in 25 appearances this season.
