11-year-old guitarist from Hyderabad breaks records
Hyderabad: Daniel Geiles, entered India’s record books as the country’s youngest to reach 8th grade in rock and pop.
The 11-year-old guitarist from Hyderabad in Telangana also received the title of “grandmaster” by the Asian Book of Records for his achievement, reported News18.
Applicants from all over the world are invited by Trinity College London each year for a quality qualification in music. It provides qualification certificates for stringed instruments, vocals, piano, electronic keyboards, brass, wind instruments, percussion, etc. However, the grading process is calculated from Grades 1 through 8, depending on how the instrument is played at different levels. .
The grading system was introduced for musical instruments in 2012. The Rock and Pop exams are graded based on bass, drums, guitar, keyboard, vocals, and dance.
Daniel graduated at the age of 11 within a year. His interest in the guitar started during lockdown, and today he is one of the best guitarists in the world.
“One day, on my way home from cricket academy, I saw my dad teaching a student guitar. I listened to my dad and started looking at the whiteboard. Immediately my father looked at me and asked me to play the guitar. I started playing guitar in February 2020 during the lockdown, ”Daniel told News18.
The 11-year-old is now the mentor of renowned Kolkata guitarist Sumit Ramachandran. He also runs his own Youtube channel which has over 30 songs and owns 15 electric guitars.
